Product types are used to group similar products to facilitate analysis.

  • You need to define at least one product type for your organization.
  • A product type "Default" is automatically created when you subscribed to the UUKA Product Master app.
  • Product type can be set to multiple levels. It will be helpful for sales analysis.

Add Product Type

  1. In UUKA Product Master app, go to "Product Type" page;
  2. Click "+ Add New" button at the left panel;
  3. Define your product type's code and name;
  4. Click "Update" button to save the setting.

Add Child Product Type

For example, I add a child product type "Soft Drinks" under product type "Beverages".

  1. Click "+ Add New" to add the child product type "SD - Soft Drinks";
  2. And then, you should choose the Parent Product Type "BV - Beverages" for this new created product type;
  3. When you click the "Update" button, the new created product type "Soft Drinks" will become the child product type of "Beverages".

  1. In UUKA Product Master app, go to "Brands" page;
  2. Click "+" button to create new product band;
  3. Fill in the brands detail, and then click "Save";
  4. Finished.

Unit of Measure (UOM) is used to quantify the products stock and enables to track them. You can make use of UOMs when you pursuit a more precise stock tracking. For example, you buy boxes of a product from a vendor but you sell the product piece by piece. You can keep track of the actual business operations with the help of UOMs

  • If you have not set the UOM for a product, by default, the stock UOM is "each".
  • UOM cannot be changed after your have created the product.

List of Standard Unit of Measure

You can use standard measuring units for your products:

  • Weight: kg, g, lb, oz
  • Length: cm, m, ft, in
  • Area: cm^2 (=cm2), ft^2 (=ft2)
  • Volume: L, cm^3 (=cm3), ft^3 (=ft3)
  • Time: day, week, month, year
  • Leave blank: each

Define a Custom Unit of Measure

  1. In UUKA Product Master, go to "Unit of Measure" page;
  2. Click "+" button to create a new UOM;
  3. Input the ID and the Name of your custom UOM, and then click the "Save" icon;
  4. When you create a new product, you can set your newly created UOM for it.

In UUKA, Products can be the products or services that you buy or sell in your organization. They can be physical items such as an apple or abstract items such as delivery charges.

  • You should define your product types before adding new products.
  • You need to add new products before any transaction made, such as create invoice or purchase.

Add a New Product

  1. In UUKA Product Master app, go to "Products" page;
  2. Click "+" button to add a new product;
  3. Fill in the product details at the pop up dialog, and then click on the "Save" button.

Product Nature

  • Inventory: Physical products which keep track of the stock quantities.
  • Non-inventory: Products with stock tracking which generate business revenue from sales (e.g. service subscription fee).
  • Bundle: Items to represent the amount deduction by sales bundles.
  • Charge: Non-inventory items which does not generate business revenue.
  • Discount: Items to represent a discount in sales (e.g. from coupon).

Product Image

You can upload image for each of your products. When the application you are using supports product images, the product image will be loaded accordingly.

List Price

You can set a default selling price for your product. UUKA will automatically load the default selling price when you place an order. Of course, you can also change it during sales.

Purchase Cost

You can set a default purchase price for your product. UUKA will automatically load the default purchase price when you create PO and/or GR. Of course, you can also change it during purchase.

Import New Products in Bulk

  1. In UUKA Product Master app, go to "Products" page;
  2. Click on the "Import" button;
  3. Download the Import Product Excel template;
  4. Fill in the Excel with your new products information;
    (*Please read the comments that some mandatory fields cannot be blank, such as Name and Product Type.)
  5. Choose the nature of new products;
  6. Choose the unit for weights (Optional);
  7. Select the Excel File you just filled in with new products;
  8. Click "Import Products" button, done.

Run User Report at Report List Page

  1. In UUKA Product Master, go to "Reports" page;
  2. In the Report List page, you can click on the "Run" icon to execute those user report;
  3. Input the report parameters (if needed);
  4. Report will be generated dynamically at the report viewer;

User Report vs System Report

There are two types of reports - User Report and System Report.

  • User Report can be executed by users manually at the Report List Page, e.g. Product List.
  • System Report can only be executed by the system, e.g. Invoice Printout.

Export Data to Excel

  1. In UUKA Product Master, go to product list, brands or UOM page which you want to export;
  2. For example, to export the products data, go to the product list page;
  3. Click on the "Export" button on top of the product list;
  4. System will generate the product data in Excel format for your downloading.
